2026 Fraud Frontlines: Protecting Your Bank and Your Customers

Banks face fraud from two directions at once: schemes that start outside the institution and schemes that start within it. On Wednesday, October 7, the 2026 Fraud Frontlines seminar brings together investigators, regulators and bank security specialists for a one-day look at four threats facing financial institutions today. Every session uses real-world examples, and attendees leave with warning signs they can recognize and steps they can take back to their banks.

Lindsay Gill, CFE, of Forensic Strategic Solutions presents the morning session on employee fraud and internal controls.

The Program

  • 8:30 a.m. Financial Exploitation Is on the Rise in Alabama. Senior Special Agent Elizabeth Planer, who leads the Elder Exploitation Unit at the Alabama Securities Commission, covers common types of financial exploitation, the red flags to watch for, how to report suspected cases and the resources the Commission offers financial institutions.
  • 9:30 a.m. When the Fraudster Is on the Inside: Employee Fraud & Internal Controls. Lindsay Gill, Forensic Strategic Solutions.
  • 11:00 a.m. Account Takeover & Customer Impersonation. Priya Krishnamoorthy, Customer Identity Strategy Advisor at Prove, examines how fraudsters impersonate legitimate customers, the vulnerabilities they exploit and how banks can identify these schemes.
  • 1:00 p.m. Jackpotting: ATM Attacks & Emerging Threats. Adam Stephens, Chief Development Officer at STS Group, explains how criminals gain access to ATMs, where common security gaps exist and what banks can do to protect their machines, their cash and their customers.
  • 3:00 p.m. Red Flags After Hours. A complimentary beer and wine networking reception sponsored by STS Group.

Lunch is included.

Lindsay’s Session: When the Fraudster Is on the Inside

Insider fraud rarely surfaces all at once. It leaves warning signs long before it is discovered, and the difference between an early catch and a costly loss is usually whether someone knew what to look for.

Drawing on real-world case examples, Lindsay will walk attendees through the red flags that can indicate employee fraud, internal misconduct or suspicious customer activity. She will cover how changes in financial patterns, employee behavior, customer activity and internal controls can signal that something is wrong, and how to ask the right questions when a concern warrants a closer look. Lindsay specializes in forensic investigations, data analytics, fraud prevention and internal controls, and she has provided expert testimony in both civil and criminal proceedings.

Why Attend

Fraud schemes change faster than most training programs. One day at Fraud Frontlines gives your team a current view of the threats banks face, from customer impersonation at the front line to misconduct in the back office, along with practical guidance they can apply right away. The closing reception gives attendees time to continue the conversation with speakers and peers.

Who Should Attend

The seminar is designed for anyone in the bank who helps prevent, identify or respond to fraud, including fraud officers and investigators, BSA/AML professionals, compliance and risk officers, bank security officers, internal auditors, operations and deposit personnel, branch managers and retail banking leaders, IT and cybersecurity professionals and frontline supervisors.
